With 30 years of education experience in a variety of contexts (including public/private, day/boarding, American/international, university/secondary schooling, formal/informal), I continue to put my PhD in service of concepts of education that challenge business as usual.

My research has led me to ask what would happen if we let the concepts we wonder about drive the process of learning about those things. I’ve never been a fan of applying pedagogical techniques to deliver curriculum nor a canned, one-size-fits-all understanding of what students and educators need.

A More-Than Education is a premium, fully customized approach to what you want to make it. You teach me, and I collaborate with you to help bridge what you are wrestling with and the tools and resources at our disposal (including school) to bring innovative approaches to understanding and engaging our world.

In true Rancierian (one of my favorite educators) fashion of “attending to a thing in common”, together we ask: “What do I think?”, “How do I know?”, and “What might it mean?” as we seek to bridge our experiences in school with our broader commitments in education.
