Developmental Coaching

I help you get clear on your ideas, purpose, audience, and overall flow and organization of your writing project.
Book one or more 60 minute sessions as flexibly as you wish.
Revise and Edit
CHF 300/400/650
This coaching package is for AFTER you have a draft (or two or more!) and you want feedback on your ideas (revision) and grammar/spelling (editing).
The Revise and Edit package requires that I have your draft 48 hours in advance of our coaching call.
I will provide comments (revision suggestions) and grammar and spelling suggestions (editing) on your paper. Then, we will discuss these in a one hour coaching session. You will leave with a copy of your doc, including my comments and suggestions as well as a recording of our coaching session.
Additional sessions can be added if you pursue additional drafts. The first session will aim to give you concrete feedback, highlighting what will most improve your current draft and any patterns that – if addressed – bear to bring you the biggest improvements in your writing, not to mention a huge increase in your confidence!

The Whole Package

You want a piece of writing that is well conceived, well planned, thoroughly drafted, revised, and edited multiple times. You get both written feedback and multiple coaching sessions. In other words, this is the package for those really important writing projects! It just so happens to also include a chf 100 discount! It’s a win-win.
The Whole Package begins with 1-2 developmental coaching sessions. These are for pre-writing, planning, and conceptualizing your project.
Then, I provide two rounds of revision and editing feedback at the points of your choosing throughout your writing process.
Finally, we have a final coaching call after the final round of revisions and edits to shore up what will make the biggest improvements in this draft before you submit. We discuss the takeaways, highlighting key patterns and insights from this writing process to carry with you into future writing projects, thus continuing your growth as a writer and in your confidence about your writing skills.

Frequently asked questions
How are your services similar and different to tutoring?
While targeted tutoring can certainly play a role in our work together, it will be couched in identifying why performing well is important to you. We want to connect your capabilities with your commitments.
Do you work with students struggling with motivation?
Everyone struggles with motivation. This is completely normal. One way we address this is in working to identify what drives you and then connecting your work to that. However, I will only recommend my services to clients motivated to try new approaches. In other words, if you and I together can accomplish goals you have (even if it is finding motivation), we can work together. We shouldn’t work together if your reason for doing so is someone else’s interest.
Do you work with students who have diagnosed learning differences?
Yes, of course, but I am not a specialist in – nor do I offer specialized services in/for – various learning differences and/neurodivergences. So many amazing resources exist for that work. I encourage you – and can help you – connect with those. What we do is consider how your uniqueness can be mobilized in service of your greater education goals.
Do I already need to know what my goals, dreams, and interests are before working with you?
No, and the answer to these questions may likely continue to change for all of us. We each constantly evolving in our answers to these questions. so we may find that clarity comes and goes. That’s ok. If you have some clear goals but struggle to connect them to your educational experiences, I can help with that.
Do you offer subject area curricular expertise? If so, which ones?
I am a certified secondary English Language Arts teacher with approximate 30 years of classroom teaching experience. I also teach advanced learners of English as an Additional Language. Finally, I love working with preservice and inservice educators. Secondary English teacher education is a primary component of my PhD in Curriculum, instruction, and Teacher Education from Michigan State University.
